Infrared Technology

This page is meant to document my interest in infrared detection and its applications in art and video processing. It will be updated as needed.

The first experiment in IR detection and processing was displayed at the Murphy Art Center in Indianapolis, IN. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at an event called GLACIER LAYER. This was a multimedia installation done by Andrew Bucksbarg and myself. The IR "shadows" modified the sound and also parameters in the visual processing. This is just a short snippet I grabbed with my phone... the nicer moments come towards the end of the clip. Also, ignore the sound :)!

@Glacier Layer: IR motion tracking from Robert Lyon.

I will have an explanation of the process posted soon... I hope to have more thorough visual documentation of the piece soon as well...

Also, there is currently a new project brewing which utilizes the infrared detection and the openframeworks libraries. So stayed tuned!
